The Seigmen DVD from the two Opera gigs in 2008 is nearing completion!
Today, the audio mastering was completed – both in stereo and 5.1 surround. What’s left now, is DVD-authoring/encoding (making menus, etc…) and the printing/pressing of the actual product. If everything goes as planned, we’re looking at a release sometime in the 2nd half of June.
Oh, and – this will be a DVD release – not a Blu-Ray. The reason is quite simple: The film footage wasn’t in actual HD – so there was no point in a Blu-release. We’ve been assured that the end result will be stunning, though.
Update, May 16th: The DVD will contain all the songs they performed at the Opera gigs (unlike the Dødens Dal DVD), from the intro to the very end. There will also be a 50 minute ‘behind the scenes’ feature, from the preparations the day before, and leading up to the first concert. This will also have an optional commentary track with Kim and Sverre. Also, a still image gallery and the Monument intermezzo video.
On this date 20 years ago, April 10th 1992, Seigmen had the release-party for their very first CD ‘Pluto’ at a club called Diva. (see ticket scans below)
Celebrate in style, and listen to the album/ep in it’s entirety today! Don’t have it? Check it out on Spotify.

As we’ve suspected here at IP for a while now: Seigmen will return next year! They are the first band to be released for Tønsberg’s own Slottsfjell festival, which celebrates it’s 10th anniversary next July.
The Seigmen petition/preorder on www.seigmen.net have now reached 1000 signatures, and is now closed. Everyone who’s signed will get some more info in their mail-boxes in a while. And if you weren’t one of the lucky 1000 – stay tuned. We’re gonna post all the info we get here, as soon as we get it. ((o))
In little over three days, we managed to get 800 signatures! This means that the production has now been green-lit: Sometime next year, we will get a Blu-Ray and/or DVD from Seigmen’s Opera gigs!
We’ll keep the petition going, though, until we reach 1000. So if you haven’t signed up yet, you still have a chance. Remember that everyone who pre-order will get the Blu-Ray / DVD fully signed by the band, and before the release date.
Three years ago, Seigmen played two concerts at the Norwegian Opera House.
These concerts were so special, that they made sure to capture them to tape and video. While there were no immediate plans to do something with this material, the fans have been waiting, and asking, for a proper video release.
And now, finally, the wait may soon be over… if you want it to. If we can get at least 800 fans to sign this petition, and commit to buy a Blu-Ray (and/or DVD), it will be releasedsometime in the first half of 2012.
We will need your full name, your email adress, and a mobile phone number, for updates and messaging. Only your name will be displayed on the site, and the rest will be handed over to Seigmen’s management when/if we reach 800 signatures.
Everyone who signs this, and committs to buy this release, will receive a fully signedBlu-Ray (and/or DVD), before it becomes officially available for purchasing.
The price will be around 250 Norwegian Kroner, plus postage, but at this point, there is no payment involved.
Many people have been asking for a DVD from the amazing gigs Seigmen did at the Norwegian Opera house three years ago.
Has the wait finally ended? No… but tomorrow, we will get some long awaited details about the potential future of this highly anticipated release.
Oh, and there will be a video, as well. A long one. Watch this space at 19.00 (Norwegian time) tomorrow!
