What a summer this is turning out to be…
Seigmen DVD from the Opera gigs, Ljungblut photobook + CD, and a bunch of Seigmen festival gigs!
Festidalen just announced Seigmen as a headliner on Friday August 3rd. That means that we’ve got 5 confirmed concert dates for this summer:
19/07/12 – Slottsfjell Festival, Tønsberg
20/07/12 – Malakoff, Nordfjordeid
03/08/12 – Festidalen, Uskedalen
04/08/12 – RaumaRock, Åndalsnes
17 or 18/08/12 - Parkenfestivalen, Bodø
The Seigmen DVD from the two Opera gigs in 2008 is nearing completion!
Today, the audio mastering was completed – both in stereo and 5.1 surround. What’s left now, is DVD-authoring/encoding (making menus, etc…) and the printing/pressing of the actual product. If everything goes as planned, we’re looking at a release sometime in the 2nd half of June.
Oh, and – this will be a DVD release – not a Blu-Ray. The reason is quite simple: The film footage wasn’t in actual HD – so there was no point in a Blu-release. We’ve been assured that the end result will be stunning, though.
Update, May 16th: The DVD will contain all the songs they performed at the Opera gigs (unlike the Dødens Dal DVD), from the intro to the very end. There will also be a 50 minute ‘behind the scenes’ feature, from the preparations the day before, and leading up to the first concert. This will also have an optional commentary track with Kim and Sverre. Also, a still image gallery and the Monument intermezzo video.
Pretty exciting, or what?
That’s right – Seigmen will play at the Parken Festival in Bodø!

You all know that Noralf plays drums in Post 4 as well, right? They’re releasing two new singles (digitally) on May 3rd, and an album in a few weeks. They’ll be on ‘God Morgen Norge’ on TV2 here in Norway on May 3rd – will see if we can get a recording up.

Schizo ’92!
On this date 20 years ago, April 10th 1992, Seigmen had the release-party for their very first CD ‘Pluto’ at a club called Diva. (see ticket scans below)

1st big review: ‘Åpenbaringen’ – ‘The revelation’
Breaking news! Those of you who were at the two Ljungblut gigs at Total last December, might have noticed that photographer Eirik Aspaas was there, documenting the events on b&w film. And soon, you’ll see the result: A beautiful photo book with more than 100 pictures from both the gigs and the hard work that preceded them. He had unlimited acces to the band, so look forward to some candid shots. Backstage, at rehearsals, in the studio, you name it.
…and that’s not all: The book will also contain a CD, with a brand new studio recording of the new song Ljungblut debuted at Total, “Norway has not yet died”, as well as a few live tracks.
Limited, signed, numbered, available from The Garden in April/May.
